(Lydia Blaha Writing) “It’s funny how American Society will say “It’s guns” or “It’s video games” or “It’s Hollywood” etc. that are making today’s world a violent place. Yet no one takes a step back and says “Wow maybe it’s us and how we are raising our children. Maybe it’s the things we allow them to say, and the things we allow them to do that’s the real problem, because ‘we don’t want any conflict'”. Maybe it’s the fact we say “yes” to our 4th grader when they ask for an iPhone, but put it on restriction to make ourselves feel better. Maybe it’s because instead of protecting our children, we push them out into this mess of society because they’ll be mad or rebel if we don’t let them do or go where their friends go. Maybe it’s because we are so out of touch with our kids and don’t realize it because we think asking them how their day is, feeding them dinner, and sending them up to their room all night to work on “homework” is suffice…… But nah, lets make excuses for them every time they screw up, or slap them with some kind of disorder and prescribe them more pills…”
Here’s an idea: Let’s start raising our children.
